HUNTER MCKENZIE

Hunter McKenzie is a folk musician, multi-instrumentalist, and educator from Chicago.  His musical foundation is in the American traditions of Piedmont blues, ragtime, and the Mississippi Delta. He is also fascinated with the intersection of the jazz manouche guitar tradition with flamenco and the folk and classical traditions of the middle east. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Second Language Studies at Indiana University, and recently founded Handmade Audio, an audio engineering company based in Bloomington. He is thrilled to be playing with Silk Road and to share music that reminds us that, across all borders and languages, inside we are the same.
