Baglama
Ezgi received her B.A. degree in Musical Performance and Music Technologies from Istanbul Technical University in 2013, and. received a Performance Diploma in Traditional Turkish Music from Halic University, Istanbul. She taught the Baglama, a traditional folk music instrument, at the Municipal Conservatory of Istanbul (Avcilar). She has performed with groups from Turkey and participated in international folkloristic festivals in Turkey and Europe. She is currently an M.A. student in the Department of Central Eurasian Studies, Indiana University, with a focus on Turkish Alevi culture, particularly Turkish “âşıks” (bards) and the interrelations between Alevi literature, music and politics.
